Office 365 Pricing Discounted License Costs

  • Steve Jobs 1955-2011

The day started as normal, woke-up had a shower, got in the car, turned-on the radio and off I went to Purenetworking HQ. Then the news came on - Steve Jobs had died. I knew he was ill, we all did, but it was still a shock.

My first ever job (over 20 years ago!!) meant I worked on a Apple and I loved it. When the time come to leave I went for a role that meant I would be supporting about 1000 PCs and just 20 Macs. At the interview one of the people on the panel asked me if I could choose a PC or a Mac which would it be. I said I'd have a Mac. I found out latter that I was the only person they interviewed who picked the Apple. Apparently this was one of the reasons they chose me! I couldn't really tell you why I preferred the Mac it just felt right. I think Steve Jobs had a way of creating devices that just made you like them.

Since then I haven't used a Mac for maybe 15 years. I'm a Windows guy. In-fact apart from the odd iPod I don't know anyone in the Purenetworking team that actually owns a Mac, iPad or iPhone.

But Steve Jobs really did make a difference. The iPad and iPhone have changed the way mobile devices are used forever. I'm not sure if Apple will continue to thrive now he has gone, but he has left a legacy that has made the world of IT a better and more fun place, even for us Windows users.

Thanks Steve and rest in peace.
